Ecological Linseed Hair Gel

In this article, you will learn how to prepare a flax hair gel. To have abundant and healthy hair it is necessary to submit it to a series of treatments. These  reduce the negative impact caused by free radicals and exposure to other environmental factors.

It is true that the use of daily shampoo and conditioner can help the hair; however, they are not enough to alleviate all the damage that you suffer day after day in your internal structures.

The good news is that today there are many hair care products that can nourish and repair your hair to improve your appearance in a matter of days.

While there are many commercial alternatives, there are also some natural ones. These offer excellent results without causing side effects from chemicals.

Among them we find the incredible benefits that an ecological flax seed gel would have, rich in nutrients and essential oils that deeply strengthen the entire mane. This would be confirmed by various studies.

What are the advantages of flax for hair?

Unlike conventional, chemical-laden gels, flaxseed gels are a rich source of omega-3 essential fatty acids, vitamin E, and antioxidant agents that support hair restoration to combat dryness and other associated problems.

Its regular use strengthens the roots of the hair and renews it to stop hair loss and stimulate the appearance of new hair. Thanks to its components, it is ideal to hydrate in depth and combat common problems such as dandruff and dryness.

As if that were not enough, it is good for stimulating the natural oils of the scalp and has an antibacterial action that fights the bacteria and yeasts that cause various skin conditions.

Of course, like all hair gels, this one can be applied to control frizz and set hair in the middle of a hard-to-fit hairstyle.

How to make flax seed hair gel

Flax seeds for hair

The preparation of this natural product is very simple, 100% ecological and, above all, quite inexpensive. Due to the concentration of mucilage, this product gives a gelled texture. It is very similar to the commercial ones, but with the great difference of providing many benefits.

  • 2 cups of water (500 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of almond oil (14 g)
  • 3 tablespoons of flax or linseed seeds (30 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of rosemary (10 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of horsetail (10 g)

    • Place the water, flax seeds, rosemary, horsetail and almond oil in a pot (this can be replaced by coconut or olive oil).
    • Cook the mixture over low heat and leave it until it boils. About 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon.
    • If you want to add some kind of aroma, you can add some essential oil without chemicals.
    • After the cooking time, strain with a sieve or cloth filter to preserve only the resulting liquid.
    • It is essential to do it before it gets cold. The liquid tends to get thick and that makes it difficult to filter.
    • Pour the gel into a jar with a lid and keep it in the refrigerator for up to a week.

    Application mode

    Application of flax hair gel

    • To use flax for hair, you just have to take the amount you consider necessary with the palms of your hands and apply it to damp hair with a gentle massage.
    • You can use it every day. With this you facilitate styling and nourish your hair. Although you should keep in mind that it tends to stiffen the hair like the other types of gels do.
    • You can also apply it like any other repair mask. Let it act for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with the usual shampoo.
    • Use it in moderate amounts.

    Conservation tips

Although it is better to use it freshly made, its useful life can be extended by adding a few drops of lemon juice before putting it in the refrigerator.

Taking into account that it does not last as long as one of those sold in the market, it is best to prepare a small quantity. Do it every time you want to use it to avoid waste.

Go ahead and try the flax hair gel! Although it seems simpler to go to the market to buy a conventional one, this option is very simple to prepare. It also has many more benefits for your hair.
